AeroLOPA prides itself on possessing a portfolio of airplane seating plans from almost every international airline. These plans are highly-detailed and concise.
On AeroLOPA’s website, you will find an extensive directory of airlines, along with the types of aircraft they host. In other words, you can look up every plane in every airline’s fleet. For this reason, AeroLOPA is also a great resource for people who are into aviation.
Say you have to book a flight with Cathay Pacific’s Airbus A321neos. If you prefer economy window seats but would like to sit somewhere up front, start by looking up AeroLOPA’s seat plan of the aircraft. You’ll have an idea of where you will be seated by studying their efficient diagrams.
Based on the seat plans above, it looks like A25 or K25 would suit your preference. And if you prefer moving a bit in the back without being obstructed by the aircraft’s wings, A42 or K42 are great picks. But just through a glance, AeroLOPA’s diagram provides concise information that is easily accessible. While it may not specify which seat would have spacious legroom, its details can help you create a more informed decision when booking tickets.

While their diagrams can be a concise reference when it comes to seating placements, the sheer number of terms and dimensions that AeroLOPA has on their website can be overwhelming, especially if you’re unfamiliar with terms in aviation. While most of these details can be helpful, they may not be as important when it comes to finding the best seating placement.
The website also tells you how many planes the airline fleet has, as well as distinguishes one type from another of the same model. But unless one has the exact details of the flight, the average traveller may not be able to differentiate a Cathay Pacific Airbus 330-300 type 33E from a Cathay Pacific Airbus 330-300 type 33J. Some airbus models have four types, so it is crucial to learn which type your ticket indicates.
Another limitation is that details in seating placements in economy are not as extensive. Some diagrams won’t specify if there is a recline option or if an electronic component is occupying legroom. This limitation poses no problem for travellers flying in business class, though, as details for this space are abundant.
But as it stands, AeroLOPA is still a formidable for researching favourable placements when booking your plane tickets. The information overload on the website is real, yes, but their diagrams are clean and precise, so you don’t have to spend too much time worrying about whether your window seats are misaligned. While there are certain limitations to the information on their website, AeroLOPA is consistently adding more airlines and diagrams to improve their already extensive resources.
