From Earth to Space in 2027: China’s Deep Blue Aerospace Opens Ticket Sales

Space tourism has taken a significant step forward in China as Deep Blue Aerospace, a major player in China’s commercial space industry, has begun selling tickets for a planned suborbital spaceflight in 2027. The ticket price for this exclusive experience is set at CN¥ 1.5 million (around ₱12.2 million), with a deposit of CN¥50,000 (about ₱406,804) required to secure a seat on this pioneering journey. Deep Blue Aerospace’s upcoming space mission promises a taste of weightlessness and an unforgettable view of the Earth from space, offering passengers a rare five-minute experience of zero gravity during the brief suborbital flight.

What we know about Deep Blue Aerospace

The company’s 2027 mission is anticipated to last around 12 minutes, reaching the edge of space without going into full orbit. Passengers will be able to experience microgravity during the peak of the flight, offering a short yet intense encounter with space unlike any terrestrial adventure. Deep Blue Aerospace joins a growing list of companies in China’s expanding commercial space sector, with competition also rising from CAS Space, which recently announced plans for its own space tourism flights, targeted to launch in 2028.

China has shown strong government backing for its commercial space enterprises. The country completed 26 commercial rocket launches in 2023 alone, underscoring Beijing’s strategic investment in developing a space industry that can rival global competitors like Elon Musk’s SpaceX. Among these launches was the Zhuque-2 rocket by LandSpace, recognized as the world’s first methane-fueled rocket, representing a leap forward in efficient space technology.

Deep Blue Aerospace is also focusing on developing reusable rocket technology, which could significantly lower the cost of future space tourism flights. This innovative step aligns with global trends aimed at making commercial space travel more accessible and cost-effective.

China’s own official space program has equally ambitious goals, aiming for a crewed mission to the Moon by 2030 and the eventual establishment of a lunar base. With Deep Blue Aerospace and others entering the commercial space tourism race, the dream of space travel is becoming an attainable reality for those willing to invest in a once-in-a-lifetime journey.
