This Events Venue in Antipolo Welcomes Visitors With Art & Greenery

Jardin de Miramar may be known as a charming wedding and events venue in Antipolo, but they are now slowly opening their whopping three-hectare property to walk-in visitors, too! It started last year when they relaunched a Christmas village that’s open to the public all year.

This time around, Jardin de Miramar invites guests to soak in the serenity of their outdoor spaces, as well as their Garden of Art. What an apt way to celebrate both Arts Month and Valentine’s Day! Here’s what these events venue in Antipolo has in store for you this February and beyond.

Garden of Art

Any seasoned art collector will notice various works dotting the Jardin de Miramar complex. Adorning nooks and crannies of this events space in Antipolo are pieces by Filipino artists. Celebrate Arts Month by taking a turn about Jardin de Miramar’s Garden of Art, and see if you’ll find a sculpture, painting, or installation that calls out to you.

While they have yet to reveal their Garden of Art in this entirety, the events space teases audiences with a crowd favourite — a brass work titled La Novia by esteemed sculptor Daniel Dela Cruz.

Evident in the piece is Dela Cruz’s distinct mastery of his chosen medium. The sculptor, who has powerfully carved his own niche in the local art scene, has been known to cast the spotlight on the female form in all stages of human life.

As the title suggests, La Novia depicts a woman in love (it translates to “girlfriend”). In fact, Dela Cruz muses that she is a youthful bride-to-be who radiates vitality and charming innocence — quite apt, since its present home is a popular venue choice for nuptials. La Novia embodies traits of Dela Cruz’s metalworks, which art lovers would know well: bodies frozen in the most intriguing yet natural of postures and poses; the softness of the human form thoughtfully captured by making precious metal yield to the artist’s creative genius; patina that adds warmth and character to the metal medium; intricate details that imbibe the pieces with a dreamlike motif.

If Dela Cruz’s La Novia is but a teaser of Jardin de Miramar’s Garden of Art, then we’re sure the outdoor space will absolutely sweep art lovers off their feet. What a great way to commemorate Arts Month and Hearts Day!

Ylang Ylang Venue

Designed by Architect Pam Agabin, the Ylang Ylang venue brings together Southeast Asian influences and a layout that pays homage to the natural world. The open-air pavilion is reminiscent of our kubo or nipa hut, which makes the area quite a breezy stop. Here and there are organic materials used to fortify and embellish the entire structure — Tan Lac bamboo, sepak takraw balls made of rattan, and our very own anahaw, to name a few.

Agabin looks to Malaysian urban planner and ecologist Ken Yeang for inspiration. Yeang advocates ecology-based architecture, which is evident in the Ylang Ylang venue’s native, back-to-basics aesthetic. Simple and hardy, the pavilion is the perfect place to take in Jardin de Marimar’s surrounding greenery.

It’s quite ideal, too, since outdoor spaces are all the rave right now — considering that they’re the safer leisure options during a pandemic. Make a game out of it and try to name all the tree species you’ll see!

Estacion

As far as tying the knot goes, Estacion is what you’d picture for an elaborate garden wedding. It’s a neatly manicured expanse of grass, and it sure does emanate romance at any time of the day. It’s located right next to the property’s palm forest, which is an absolute treat! On days without weddings, though, we can imagine that this area would be perfect for physically distanced picnics and leisurely strolls.

There are smaller gardens to weave in and out of in this events space in Antipolo: Tierra, Colina, and Intramuros, which is a quaint, miniature replica of the real thing!
