Jollibee is truly conquering the world, with more branches opening annually not just in Asia, but in North America, Oceania, and Europe as well. If you’re curious about where another outlet of the Filipino fast food chain is likely to come next, simply look at the places around the world with thriving Filipino communities. At the moment, Spain happens to be one of those places. The launch of the first Jollibee Spain branch, which opens in 2021, should then come as no surprise.
With already hundreds of Jollibee branches open globally, what can Filipinos (and those interested in Filipino fast food) expect from the said outlet?

The Jollibee Chicken Burger made its debut in Jollibee Philippine branches several years ago; but it was eventually removed from local menus due to low demand. For the time being, this offering is exclusively available in select branches of the chain in the United Kingdom. Now, it will also feature in the menu of the first Jollibee Spain.
The flagship Jollibee Spain store would be in the capital of Madrid, reportedly along Calle del Arenal near Metro Sol. There, the restaurant would have an outdoor seating area and pickup areas backdropped by Madrid’s historical buildings. It will also be in the company of beautiful art galleries, plazas, green parks, boulevards, and nightlife scenes. With these in mind, there’s no doubt that Jollibee Madrid would be one of the restaurant’s most picture-perfect outlets abroad.
Another impressive thing about the new Jollibee Europe branch is that it will have digital kiosks. Like other restaurants with a modern touch, these machines would make it easier for customers to place their orders. And with safety being a much bigger deal in the food and beverage industry nowadays, the kiosks will also provide safer transactions for both these customers and the restaurant staff.
Something about eating Chickenjoy with your hands just makes it much more satisfying, even when it can get messy at times. For that, handwashing stations would be strategically placed in the overseas Jollibee outlet. More importantly, however, these stations would be added to ensure harmless dining among the customers, a must at a time like this.
Finally, what would Jollibee be without its famous Chickenjoy? According to Jollibee CEO Ernesto Tanmantiong via BusinessMirror, “The fried chicken segment is underrepresented in Spain’s restaurant segment compared to other markets, so we are very excited to introduce the Chickenjoy we are known and loved for around the world to the people of Spain.” To the delight of pasta fans, the Pinoy-style Jolly Spaghetti will also be served.
