The introduction of electric buses aligns with the city's commitment to reducing carbon emissions and promoting sustainable practices. It also supports the Electric Vehicle Industry Development Act, which mandates a certain percentage of electric vehicles in government fleets.
The QCity Bus program, launched during the pandemic, has been a lifeline for many Quezon City residents. Since 2020, it has provided over 12 million free rides, and it was recently made permanent through Ordinance No. SP-3184, S-2023.
