Mitsukoshi Mall in BGC will finally open later in 2022, after years of waiting. This is the first time that the Japanese luxury department store will have a Philippine branch. But what is Mitsukoshi exactly and what can Filipino shoppers expect inside?
Mitsukoshi BGC will be a four-storey lifestyle mall which can host at least 120 merchants. Sections of the mall will have certain product designations, so shoppers would know where to go when looking for something specific. Expect high-quality Japanese goods when scouring this mall!
Foodies can enjoy Mitsukoshi’s food court called “Tasty Life,” located in the basement. Also in this space is Mitsukoshi Fresh, the mall’s version of an upscale supermarket. It will feature a sweets and deli corner, taking inspiration from the popular depachika (department store food markets) found in their malls in Japan.
For cosmetics and beauty salons, the “Beautiful Life” section will be on the ground floor and will feature some of the most famous brands from Japan. Meanwhile, “Inspired Life” on the third floor will have Japanese and international dining options, along with homeware, accessories, and premium retail brands. A Japanese bookstore is also set to open on the same floor. Finally, the fourth floor, named “Entertainment Life,” will have entertainment and wellness services.
