Still reeling from that Our Beloved Summer series finale? Same here. The exciting news, however, is that you can now view the documentary online. The Our Beloved Summer documentary runs for a little over half an hour, and includes footage from Choi Ung and Kook Yeon-su’s high school days all the way up to their adult life. And yes — you will be treated to some clips that weren’t included in the series!

Fortunately, you can stream the OBS documentary for free! Not long after the series finale aired on 25 Jan 2022, the full documentary premiered on SBS NOW’s official Facebook page. You can view it here.

While it doesn’t include all the scenes that producer Kim Ji-ung and his team filmed in the series, the 35-minute video will definitely be more than enough to get fans smiling from ear to ear.
Do note, however, that there are no English subtitles for SBS’ video at the time of writing. Regardless, though, the documentary is totally fun (and absolutely kilig!) to watch. It’s a great way to practise your Korean skills too, if you’ve been studying.
On 21 Jan 2022, news broke out that SBS would also be releasing a special broadcast for OBS’ viewers. The film, whose working title is Our Beloved Summer: The Movie, is scheduled to premiere on SBS at 9pm on 27 Jan. (Unfortunately, it won’t be airing on Netflix.)
As for what to expect, reports say that the special episode will include a summary of the series, plus interviews with the actors. We can hardly wait!

For those who have yet to see Our Beloved Summer, the series follows Choi Ung (Choi Woo-shik) and Kook Yeon-su (Kim Da-mi): two 20-something adults who were filmed together for a documentary during their high school years. Ten years later, the documentary goes viral, and the network decides to film the two once again. The plot twist? The two secretly started dating during the tail end of the documentary, and endured a not-so-pretty breakup five years later. It’s been five years since they last saw each other — will old feelings return, or will things turn ugly? You can stream OBS on Netflix.
