Looking for a cool, off-the-beaten-path adventure? Sisong Canyon in Baybay City, Leyte, might just be what you're looking for! It’s one of those hidden gems that’ll make you feel like you’ve stepped into a secret world of towering rocks, flowing streams, and crystal-clear natural pools.

Getting to Sisong Canyon is part of the fun. From Baybay City proper, hop on a local ride to Barangay Kabunga-an or Barangay Ampihanon. Both routes will take you to the canyon, and from there, it’s just a short trek through the lush forest. Wear comfy shoes (trust me, you’ll get wet) and get ready for a bit of a nature walk!
Here’s the best part: it’s super budget-friendly. You’ll only need to pay ₱20 for the environmental fee, and that also gets you access to Naba Falls, which is just nearby. If you want to stay safe, you can rent a life vest for just ₱20, and if you’d like a tour guide, feel free to tip them as you see fit.
The moment you step into the canyon, you’ll be blown away by how gorgeous it is. Think massive rock formations, flowing streams, and those Instagram-worthy spots that’ll make your followers wish they were there with you.

River Trekking: Wading through cool, flowing water while surrounded by steep canyon walls? Yes, please. Some parts are shallow, but other spots might make you get your feet wet a bit more.
Natural Pools: After your trek, take a refreshing dip in the crystal-clear natural pools tucked inside the canyon. It’s like your own private swimming hole — no crowds, just pure nature.
Rock Formations: The rocks here are seriously cool. They’ve been shaped by nature for centuries, and they make for some pretty amazing photo ops.
Double the Fun: Visit Naba Falls Too
Since the environmental fee also covers entry to Naba Falls, you might as well take the extra step and visit the falls too! It’s just a short walk away and gives you that perfect waterfall backdrop for your photos.

Sisong Canyon is one of those places that’ll leave you feeling refreshed and in awe of nature. It’s peaceful, stunning, and perfect for a little adventure outside the city. So if you’re up for a cool trek and a swim in some natural pools, this is definitely a spot to check out.
