South Korean Visa Online Reservation: Book Your Slot in Advance

For travellers eager to visit South Korea, the process of securing a visa has just become more convenient. Starting 19 Aug 2024, the Korea Visa Application Center (KVAC) will introduce additional online reservation slots, making it easier and quicker to book your in-person appointments. This update comes as a response to the growing demand for Korean visas, which has resulted in longer wait times at the centre.

What you need to know about the South Korean Visa online reservation

South Korean Visa Online Reservation

South Korea has become a dream destination for many, thanks to its rich cultural heritage, stunning landscapes, and the global popularity of K-dramas and K-pop. As more Filipinos add this vibrant country to their travel bucket lists, the need for a streamlined visa application process has become increasingly important. The KVAC’s expanded online reservation system aims to address this need by offering more flexibility and reducing the hassle of long queues.

Previously, online reservations were available, but slots were limited and filled up quickly due to high demand. With the new system, applicants can now book ahead for additional time slots between 9am and 11am, as well as from 2pm. to 3pm. Six slots will be available per hour, and you can reserve a slot up to two months in advance. This change not only accommodates more applicants but also helps those who prefer to plan their appointments in advance.

Despite the new reservation system, walk-ins are still welcome at the KVAC from 9am to 4pm, Monday through Friday, excluding holidays. However, booking online offers the advantage of securing a specific time, minimising waiting periods, and allowing applicants to better plan their day, especially those travelling from faraway locations.

Important tips for applicants

If you choose to make a reservation, it’s crucial to arrive 10 to 15 minutes before your scheduled time. Missing your appointment means you’ll need to either book a new slot or join the walk-in queue. Remember, only one reservation is allowed per group or applicant—duplicate bookings may result in cancellation.

Before finalising your reservation, double-check all your information, as changes cannot be made once it’s confirmed. Each slot can accommodate up to three applicants. For larger groups of four or more, it’s recommended to email KVAC with your reservation details to ensure everyone is accommodated.

On the day of your appointment, don’t forget to bring a valid ID along with a screenshot or printed copy of your confirmed reservation. If you’re applying for more than three people, bring the acknowledgement email from KVAC as well.
