As the pandemic continues, wearing masks has become a significant part of our everyday lives here and abroad, yet some still tend to complain about its downsides. Some say face masks give people a hard time breathing normally, can cause more environmental damages, and even hide facial expressions in crucial situations, which is something the Japanese store Takeya recently found a solution to.

Takeya smile masks are now being worn by the discount shop’s staff to help them look friendlier. According to the store, this is part of their Smile campaign launched earlier in August 2020. It aims to give its customers a pleasant and cheerful shopping experience amid social restrictions brought about by the pandemic.
The Takeya smile masks are cloth masks printed with generic-looking smiles that may or may not actually suit the wearer’s facial features. But that only adds to the fun in wearing them. There are also masks for both men and women, and all of them are personally designed by Takeya’s staff.
Takeya is a discount store in Japan selling various kinds of goods from clothes and accessories to furniture and other lifestyle items. If you’re currently in Japan, you can even buy one (or more) of these masks for yourself to help spread positivity in these trying times.
