Looking for a weekend bonding with the family under ₱500? Head to these places, pronto!
Thinking of a safe way to spend Valentine’s Day amid a pandemic? Here’s a classic tip: Go on a romantic biking adventure around Intramuros! If you don’t have your own bike yet, you’ll be glad to know that Bambike Ecotours has conveniently resumed operations in January 2021.
Due to COVID-19, Bambike decided to take a pause in March 2020. While the bamboo bicycle enterprise couldn’t operate for tourism, it lent its wheels to frontliners who needed transportation.
Now that quarantine protocols are easing, Bambike is now available for rentals again. Adults may rent a bike for ₱100 per hour; students get a ₱50 off discount, as long as they have a valid ID. Riders will be required to register either through a QR Code or a physical waiver.

While Bambike is once again open for rentals, guided tours are still not available as of writing. That said, you can still freely roam Intramuros on your own!
The historic Walled City is, undoubtedly, a timeless destination for Filipinos and foreigners alike. Although museums and most tourist spots are not yet open for visitors, you can still relish in the open areas of Intramuros. Bambike recommends visiting the following gems.
After enjoying the DIY tour, you can head to the Batala Bar at the Philippine Artisan Trade Gallery. Every bambike rider gets a 20% discount for their products — ice cream, coffee, and craft beer — which are all exclusively Filipino-made.
