A recent survey conducted by digital travel platform Agoda unveils seven major travel trends that will define how Filipinos explore the world in 2025. For Filipino travellers, 2025 is all about strengthening family bonds through travel. With 36% of survey respondents planning family vacations, multigenerational trips and custom itineraries designed for all ages are becoming increasingly popular. Families dominate the travel landscape at 34%, followed by couples (23%) and solo travellers (19%).

In the hustle and bustle of modern life, relaxation emerges as the primary reason for travel, with 75% of respondents citing it as their top motivation. Adventure and activities follow at 48%, while visiting family and friends secures third place at 45% for Filipino travelers.

Technology continues to simplify travel, with 87% of Filipinos planning to use travel apps in 2025. Meanwhile, 14% are eager to explore virtual reality tours to preview destinations, making trip planning more immersive and efficient.

Managing expenses remains a key priority for Filipino travelers. Around 74% plan to spend less than ₱14,566 per night on accommodations. Despite rising costs, the desire to travel remains strong, with 88% intending to travel as much or more than in 2024. Over 27% plan to explore both domestic and international destinations.

The rise of flexible work arrangements has given way to a new trend: combining work and travel. In 2025, 4% of Filipinos plan to work remotely while traveling, while 23% will embark on traditional work trips. Countries like Taiwan, Thailand, and South Korea are popular for their "workcation" visa offerings, catering to aspiring digital nomads.

The thirst for new experiences is evident, with 84% of travelers eager to visit unfamiliar destinations. Personal interests and hobbies inspire 70% of these adventures, while 37% look for great value deals, and 34% rely on recommendations from friends and family.

Theme parks continue to captivate travelers of all ages, with 13% of respondents planning trips specifically to visit them in 2025. Iconic attractions like Hong Kong Disneyland and Universal Studios Japan remain top choices, fueling both domestic and international tourism.
