Reaching Anawangin Beach is an adventure in itself. Although it's technically part of the mainland, it’s best accessed via a 20-minute boat ride from Pundaquit. You can also opt for a challenging hike through Mt. Pundaquit’s trail, but this is recommended for seasoned trekkers.
Take a bus bound for San Antonio, Zambales (e.g., Victory Liner from Cubao or Pasay).
From San Antonio town proper, ride a tricycle to Pundaquit Beach.
From Pundaquit, hire a boat to Anawangin Cove.
Boat rental rates vary, usually ranging from PHP 1,200 to PHP 3,000 per boat (good for small groups) or PHP 300 to PHP 750 per person (for bigger shared boats). Many boatmen also offer packages that include island hopping in Zambales, covering nearby Nagsasa Cove, Capones Island, and Camara Island.
The best months to visit are December to May when the weather is dry and the sea is calmer. However, the peak season is March to May, so expect more tourists. The off-peak season (June to October) offers fewer crowds, but there’s a higher risk of heavy rains and rough seas.

Anawangin Cove is no longer just a camping destination—resorts have now opened within the cove itself, offering more options for travellers!
Many visitors still opt for beach camping to fully immerse themselves in Anawangin’s natural beauty. You can bring your tent or rent one from local vendors. Basic amenities like communal restrooms are available but be prepared for no electricity, weak mobile signal, and minimal comfort facilities.
For those who want a more comfortable stay without leaving the cove, Anawangin Cove & Lake Resort and Destinare Beach Resort & Campsite offer accommodations right by the shore. These resorts provide a mix of camping-style and resort-like amenities, allowing guests to enjoy the cove’s raw beauty while having access to better facilities.
If you prefer a stay with modern comforts, book a resort in Pundaquit, such as Megan's Paradisio Beach Resort, Canoe Beach Resort, or Pundaquit Luxury Resort. From here, you can visit Anawangin Cove via a day trip while enjoying full amenities, electricity, and stable mobile reception at your accommodation.
