Introducing Devil’s Burger, the So-Called Archrival of Angel’s Burger

In case you didn’t know, Angel’s Burger is no longer alone in the community of budget burger chains in the Philippines. As of July 2020, its so-called archrival, Devil’s Burger, has arrived on Philippine shores, and photos of one of its kiosks have already taken the local social media by storm early on in 2021.

As the newest burger stop for the thrifty Filipino, Devil’s Burger will redefine the meaning of comfort food, according to its likely owner, actor Jeffrey Santos. “Now it can be told! Sarap na hahanaphanapin! Now open to serve you!” he said in an Instagram post on 28 Jan 2021. Santos is the elder brother of veteran Filipina actress, Judy Ann Santos-Agoncillo.

What you can buy from Devil’s Burger

Looking closely at the viral Devil’s Burger photos, it seems like the new food store is banking on affordable spicy burgers. “Sulit ang anghang sarap,” its tagline even reads. Among its items is a buy-1-take-1 burger, which is named after the brand itself. It only costs ₱30, which is just a few pesos more expensive than that of Angel’s Burger.

A buy-1-take-1 Cheesy Devil’s Burger is also being served for ₱40. In addition, there’s a buy-1-take-1 Sulit Jumbo Hotdog Sandwich from ₱50 and a single Ultimate Hotdog Sandwich with an assortment of toppings for ₱45. Then, for just ₱59, you can order their spiciest burger yet, the double-patty Inferno Burger Sandwich.

For rice lovers, Devil’s Burger offers their Rapsa Rice Meals with three different viands: hotdog, burger steak, and bacon. Each comes with an egg and a choice of sauce. There’s regular gravy, cheese, and of course, hot sauce. You can also buy them in a buy-1-take-1 promo for only ₱79. For extras and drinks, purchase them separately.

Devil’s Burger locations and other details

A photo taken and posted by Facebook user Art Josef further shows the sole kiosk still undergoing final touches. Devil’s Burger’s only location so far is at No. 66 Manila Gravel Pit Road (or LITEX Road) in Quezon City. You can’t miss it as the store’s colourful sign is easily noticeable against a backdrop of what looks like an industrial building, where the kiosk is built in.

The store implements minimum health standards. However, customers are still encouraged to opt for a takeaway option for a safer dining experience while enjoying Devil’s Burger’s offerings. As for franchising and opening more locations, Santos said that they have yet to get there. He can also be seen at the kiosk supervising operations from time to time.
