If you’ve been dreaming of dramatic cliffs, secret beaches, and jaw-dropping ocean views without the tourist crowds, Dingalan, Aurora might just be your next big adventure. Tucked away on the east coast of Luzon, this underrated gem is often called the “Batanes of the East”—and for good reason. It’s raw, rugged, and wildly beautiful.

Dingalan is a coastal town in Aurora province, nestled between the Sierra Madre mountains and the Pacific Ocean. Despite its stunning scenery, it still flies under the radar for many travellers—which honestly makes it even better.
From Manila, you’ll need a bus ride to Cabanatuan, followed by a van to Dingalan. Sounds like a mission? Maybe. But trust us, the reward at the end of the road is worth every bump and turn.

1. Tanawan View Deck & Lighthouse
A short hike takes you up to sweeping views of mountains crashing into the ocean. The iconic white lighthouse perched on the cliffside? It’s giving cinematic realness. Bring your drone or your best photo pose—you’ll want to remember this.
2. White Beach
This secluded beach is only accessible by boat (or a hike if you’re feeling brave), but once you get there, it’s all soft sand, calm waters, and serious peace and quiet. Perfect for camping or just kicking back after a morning trek.
3. Lamao Caves
If you like your adventures with a splash of mystery, head out on a boat to these sea caves carved into the coastal cliffs. The water here glows an unreal shade of blue—absolutely magical, especially when the light hits just right.
4. Waterfalls Worth the Walk
Tanawan Falls and Tabi Falls are both within reach for a refreshing dip. Surrounded by thick greenery and the sound of rushing water, they’re a sweet contrast to the salty breeze of the coast.
5. Dingalan Bay View Site
Want the full view of the bay and the mountains? This is your postcard moment. Go early for sunrise if you want to see the sky explode in pink and gold.

If you're after something affordable and authentic, the homestay route is definitely the move.

Let’s put it this way: if you love Batanes but don’t love the price tag or the flights, Dingalan is your secret escape. It’s raw, real, and ridiculously beautiful. Perfect for solo trips, barkada adventures, or even romantic getaways for couples who’d rather hike than hotel-hop.
