While touring Metro Manila is an enriching leisurely activity, the traffic can be unbearable. Add to that the sweltering tropical heat and it will quickly tire out any excitement left in the bones. Fortunately, the Department of Tourism (DOT) is offering a solution: The new Hop-On Hop-Off (HOHO) bus tours in Makati debuted on 28 May 2023, giving tourists an efficient and convenient way to see the best tourist spots in the metro.

Hop-on hop-off buses are a world-famous service known for its specialised routes designed for touring. The service prides itself on seamless ingress and egress at any of its points and meticulously scheduled stops.
You’ve probably seen them abroad before: Extra-large buses with spacious seats and wide glass windows that make it easier to sightsee. Some travellers consider these buses as attractions, too, besides being one of the most effective ways to tour cities like Singapore and Kuala Lumpur.
And now, these iconic buses are in the Philippines! National and local government units, as well as tourism stakeholders, convened together to debut the Hop-On Hop-Off bus program in Makati on Sunday, 28 May in Glorietta 2, which is one of the route’s Makati stops. Other key stops include Washington Sycip Park, Circuit Makati, Museo ng Makati, and Poblacion.
There are also plans to launch the service in Manila. Its route will focus on cultural sites around the country capital. Watch out for the roll-out on 2 June 2023!
