Angkas Rolls Out Angcars: A New Four-Wheel Ride Option in Metro Manila

Commuters in Metro Manila now have another ride-hailing option with the launch of Angcars, Angkas’ new four-wheel transport service. Known for its popular motorcycle taxi service, Angkas has expanded beyond two wheels, giving passengers the chance to book a car through the same app just in time for the busy holiday season. Whether you need extra space for a grocery run or prefer the comfort of a car ride over a motorcycle, Angcars aims to meet those needs with ease.

Currently, Angcars is available in select areas of Metro Manila, including key locations such as Makati City, Pasig City, Mandaluyong City, and Bonifacio Global City. The service is still in its beta phase, with plans to expand to more parts of the metro soon. In a lighthearted social media post, Angkas reminded users not to expect too much yet, saying, “Beta pa lang ‘to so wag muna kayo masyadong mag-expect. Goal lang naman namin maging second best.” Despite the humble approach, the new service provides a convenient alternative for those looking to avoid motorcycles or needing more passenger space.

Angcars currently offers four-seater vehicles, perfect for small groups or families. However, Angkas CEO George Royeca has hinted at future plans to introduce larger six-seater vehicles under the name Angcars Plus. The timing of this launch aligns with the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board’s (LTFRB) recent approval of 5,000 more transport network vehicle services (TNVS) to hit the road, making it easier for commuters to find a ride.

When it comes to pricing, Angcars falls somewhere between other ride-hailing services like GrabCar and JoyRide Car. A typical weekday trip from SM Megamall to TriNoma costs around P319 with Angcars. In comparison, GrabCar charges ₱275 for the same trip, while JoyRide Car charges ₱337. While Angcars may be more expensive than a motorcycle taxi, which costs about ₱121 for the same journey, the added comfort and space can make it worthwhile for passengers.
