Baguio Travel Requirements for Fully Vaccinated Tourists

Planning to visit Baguio soon? While the city is still open to a limited number of tourists, it has heightened its travel protocols to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 Omicron variant. Read on to learn more about the latest Baguio travel requirements.

Baguio travel overview

On 14 Feb 2022, the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) Baguio announced that the Cordilleran Administrative Region (CAR) will be under Alert Level 2 from 16 to 28 Feb 2022. Provinces and towns included are Abra, Apayao, Baguio City, Benguet, Ifugao, Kalinga, and Mountain Province.

Who can travel to Baguio?

Under Alert Level 2, Baguio City allows tourists of all ages from areas under Alert Levels 1, 2, 3, GCQ, and MGCQ to enter its premises.

COVID-19 health and safety protocols

While Baguio is now mostly open for tourism, the province continues to adhere to health and safety protocols. Here are the Baguio travel protocols and guidelines you must remember while it is under Alert Level 2.

• Wearing face masks and regular handwashing are expected.
• A maximum of 50% indoor venue capacity and 70% outdoor venue capacity for fully vaccinated individuals shall be imposed on the following establishments and activities:
  • Venues for meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions (MICE);
  • Venues for social events and live performers, such as wedding venues and karaoke bars;
  • Tourist attractions, such as libraries, museums, parks, scenic viewpoints, et cetera;
  • Amusement parks and playgrounds;
  • Recreational venues, such as internet cafes, billiard halls, bowling alleys, swimming pools, etc.;
  • Cinemas and movie houses;
  • Religious gatherings;
  • Restaurants and other dine-in establishments;
  • Personal care establishments, such as barbershops, hair salons, spas, et cetera;
  • Fitness centres for non-contact sports and workouts; and,
  • Gatherings in residences with individuals not belonging to the same
    household.

Baguio travel requirements: What fully vaccinated tourists should know

Fully vaccinated non-residents travelling for leisure will need to present the following requirements:

• Vaccination certificate from VaxCertPH
• Approved QTP from Baguio VISITA
• Valid ID

For Baguio tourists who are not fully vaccinated

• Negative RT-PCR or antigen test result issued within 72 hours prior to arrival*
• Vaccination certificate from VaxCertPH
• Approved QTP from Baguio VISITA
• Valid ID

*Children below 12 years old who are accompanied by fully-vaccinated parents may instead provide medical certificates to prove that they are in good condition.

*Unvaccinated or partially vaccinated tourists from 12 to 17 years old, even if from low-risk areas, must also submit test results.

*If tourists do not have test results, they will be required to undergo antigen testing at the Central Triage upon arrival. The Central Triage is located at the Baguio Convention Center.

Where to stay in Baguio

On 13 Dec 2021, Baguio VISITA posted on Facebook that the city has distributed triage operations across their tourism accommodations to welcome more travellers. If you book in one of the 93 accommodations with standalone triage units, you can proceed directly to your hotel without passing through the Central Triage.
