Ready for a solo travel?
While biking has long been a hobby for a lot of Pinoys, even more people have taken up cycling during the pandemic. Offering exercise, fresh air, and a reason to step out of our houses, it’s one of the few things that’s kept us sane during these trying times. Now that there are more bikers on the road, there’s been a greater demand for biker-friendly cafes around the city. One biker cafe that cyclists shouldn’t miss? Lay-by Coffee in Marikina.

First launched in April 2021, Lay-by Coffee has already earned its share of loyal customers; and the cafe comes highly recommended by bikers and coffee lovers alike. Whether you’re a Marikina resident, a biker en route from JP Rizal to San Mateo, or you just generally love trying out new coffee shops, you’re bound to become a fan of this biker cafe!
While their picture-perfect aesthetic will definitely catch your eye, it’s Lay-by Coffee’s friendly baristas and quality coffee that’ll keep you coming back for more. Plus, with quite a generous lineup of coffee beverages for you to try, one visit certainly won’t be enough! You can choose to have your coffee at the bar, grab it in a takeout cup, or purchase their bottled coffees to enjoy at home.
If you’re dropping by the biker cafe for the first time though, here’s a helpful tip: Their Dirty Latte and Salted Caramel Latte are crowd favourites! We love that their coffee is made with local beans, too — a blend of Sultan Kudarat and Kalinga beans, to be specific.
While they have yet to add any snacks to their regular menu, they do serve Korean cream cheese garlic bread from time to time — yum! If you’re lucky, your visit just might coincide with one of their bake days, and you may even get to enjoy it fresh out of the oven. (We hear it’s best paired with their Dirty Latte.)
Lay-by Coffee is currently open for takeout and delivery via third-party courier services. Dining in is temporarily suspended for the duration of ECQ.
Address: 882 JP Rizal St., Nangka, Marikina City
Opening hours: 8am to 8pm
