In 2007, Joy received a gift from her high school sweetheart. It was a stuffed toy, which was, in the ’00s, the ultimate symbol of infatuation for many teenagers like herself.
“Isang taon din kami,” Joy told TripZilla Philippines. “Pero nung binigyan niya ako ng , after ilang days, nag-break kami.”
Years after her breakup, Joy heard speculations about couples who’ve gifted each other . “Sabi nila pag niregaluhan ka raw ng , mag-bebreak kayo,” she said.
Of course, Joy took this lightly. She stressed that her previous relationship was a product of puppy love and was bound to end eventually. “Usually, mga bata o estudyante yung nagbibigayan ng . Kaya most likely, mag-bebreak din sila,” she concluded.
