Boracay Travel Requirements for Domestic Tourists

Pristine shores, romantic sunsets, vibrant seas — don’t you just miss Boracay? The island is open to travellers during COVID-19; and fully vaccinated tourists can finally visit without swab tests. Read on to learn about the latest Boracay travel requirements as of February 2022.

Boracay travel overview

Over a year into the pandemic, we continue to see a push and pull of travel protocols across the country. Boracay once again reopened to tourists on 14 Feb 2022, following Aklan’s shifting restrictions in the same month.

As of 16 Feb, Boracay is now under Alert Level 2. Tourists can expect a number of outdoor tourist attractions to be operating during this time.

Who can travel to Boracay?

Boracay is currently open to returning residents, government APOR (Authorized Persons Outside Residence), and private APOR. For leisure travel, the province is open to domestic tourists of all ages from GCQ, MGCQ, and NCR Alert Level 3 areas. Tourists from NCR who are over 65 years old, with comorbidities and other health risks, and pregnant women must be fully vaccinated.

The following are allowed entry to the province from GCQ and MGCQ areas on a point-to-point basis:

• Visitors below 18 
• Fully vaccinated travellers above 65 years old
• Fully vaccinated with comorbidities and other health issues
• Fully vaccinated pregnant women

COVID-19 health and safety protocols

All tourists must comply with the following Boracay travel protocols upon arrival:

• Wearing of face masks and face shields (except for swimming and eating)
• Regular washing and sanitising of hands
• Social distancing at all times
• Swimming only from 6am to 6pm in permitted areas (upon registration at designated beach station)
• Bringing of S-PaSS and QR Code upon entry to establishments

Boracay travel requirements

Domestic tourists must prepare the following requirements. These will have to be presented by passengers upon arrival in the province.

For fully vaccinated travellers

• VaxCertPH or any vaccination card with a QR code from LGU
• Confirmed round-trip flight or ferry tickets
• Confirmed booking at an accredited accommodation
• Valid ID with address
• Online health declaration card (OHDC) and QR code from touristboracay.com*
• Certificate of Undertaking (if travelling with minors)

For unvaccinated or partially vaccinated travellers

All unvaccinated non-Aklanons, except for children two years old and below, are required to present the following.

• VaxCertPH or any vaccination card with a QR code from LGU
• Confirmed round-trip flight or ferry tickets
• Confirmed booking at an accredited accommodation
• Valid ID with address
• Online health declaration card (OHDC) and QR code from touristboracay.com*
• Certificate of Undertaking (if travelling with minors)
• Negative swab/saliva RT-PCR test, released within 72 hours before arrival in Boracay*

**OHDC QR code will be scanned at the ports of entry.
