Our favourite places to stay on this sleepy Cebu island.
From Macao having the world’s tallest bungee jump to the Philippines being home to the world’s largest eagle, Asia is no doubt the place for extremes. So if you’re exploring the continent and looking for places to, say, swim hundreds of metres above ground, then you can also add Dubai to your list. Here, you can experience the highest infinity pool in the world!
At 293 metres high, the Dubai infinity pool sits atop Address Beach Resort, one of the city’s new skyscrapers and luxury accommodations. Its wet surface area measures 560 square metres. This gives the impression of a “massive lake in the sky,” as the resort puts it. In addition, the pool has 500 cubic metres of volume, with the deepest point at 1.2 metres.

With an elevation nearly as high as the roof of Grand Hyatt Manila, the tallest building in the Philippines, the Address Beach Resort swimming pool offers unparalleled sightseeing. Specifically, going here will treat you to views of popular Dubai attractions like the observation wheel Ain Dubai and the iconic Palm Jumeirah. Also highly visible are the World Islands, Dubai’s Dubai Marina Coastline, Burj Al Arab, and the Arabian Gulf.
Near the infinity pool, guests of Address Beach Resort will find an open-terrace Asian restaurant called ZETA Seventy Seven. It consists of sunken tables and private cabanas, which diners must book in advance. Outside enjoying the pool, those who find themselves at the resort’s 77th floor can make the most of the overlooking restaurant’s food, music, and other amenities.
Address Beach Resort also boasts of the highest occupiable sky bridge floor at 294 metres above sea level. This connects the resort to the Address Beach Residences. The two towers are part of a joint project of Emaar Properties. It’s a multinational real estate development company based in the United Arab Emirates. Both the pool and the skybridge are now recognised by the Guinness World Records for their respective breakthroughs.

Before the Dubai infinity pool at Address Beach Resort, which opened in 2020, the highest one was in Singapore. Marina Bay Sands’ outdoor pool, which has been photographed and recognised countless times sits at a height of 191 metres, about 100 metres short of the one in the Middle East. It’s located on the 57th floor of Singapore’s famous integrated resort.
Joining the list of the highest swimming pools around the world are the pools at Langham Place in Hong Kong and The InterContinental Warsaw in Poland. Other infinity pools are not as high, but they’re definitely easy on the eye. These are the pools at Indonesia’s Ubud Hanging Gardens, which overlooks the Balinese jungle; Greece’s Grace Hotel, which is the largest one on Santorini; and Tanzania’s Four Seasons Safari Lodge Serengeti. If you’re lucky, you’ll even be visited by Africa’s fascinating wildlife while lounging here!
To experience the highest Dubai infinity pool, one must be checked in at Address Beach Resort. It’s also only open to those 21 years of age and above.
