One of the best ways to enjoy Kayangan Lake is by diving right into the action—literally. Whether you are into snorkelling, hiking, or photography, this spot on Coron Island offers a wide range of experiences.
Snorkelling in Kayangan Lake is like entering another world. Beneath the surface lies a maze of jagged limestone rock formations that feel straight out of a sci-fi film. Thanks to its brackish waters—a rare mix of fresh and saltwater—the visibility is exceptionally clear, making it easy to take in every stunning detail below.
For the more adventurous, freediving adds an extra thrill. While wearing life jackets is mandatory, experienced divers often loosen them once in the water. Just remember that freshwater has less buoyancy, so staying afloat is a little tougher.
If you are not in the mood to dive, take a short hike to the famous Kayangan Lake viewpoint. Funny enough, it does not overlook the lake but the stunning turquoise lagoon where boats dock. It’s hands down one of the most Instagram-worthy views in Coron, Palawan.
Want something a bit more relaxing? Go for a swim. The water in Kayangan Lake is calm, refreshingly cool, and so clean it is often called the cleanest lake in Asia. After a day of island hopping, it is the perfect way to chill out.
Looking for something unique? Swim into Awuyuk Cave, a pitch-black cave near the lake. It is only about 10 metres in, but you will need a guide for this one. The eerie silence and darkness add a whole new kind of adventure to your trip.
The dramatic limestone cliffs and emerald waters make for stunning aerial shots. But take note—Coron has earned the nickname “drone graveyard” because of signal interference and strong winds. If you are flying a drone, do so with caution.

The Kayangan Lake entrance fee is ₱300 per person, roughly $6. Most tour packages already include this in the overall cost. Recently, local authorities have required that entrance fees be paid in advance in Coron Town to help manage the number of daily visitors.
