13 Long Weekends in the Philippines in 2018

If you monitor airline websites religiously (like me!), then you would know that a lot of them have seat sales right now. Some of them even offer travel periods as far out as 2018.

We all know that plane tickets are cheaper when you buy them early! But if you have a 9-to-5 job and are hesitating to click that “BOOK NOW” button for fear that you won’t have enough vacation leave days next year, worry no more! The Office of the President has just released the list of regular holidays and special (non-working) days for 2018.

And guess what, you won’t need to use up that many vacation leave days because based on my estimate, we will have (drumroll, please).. 10 regular holidays, 8 special (non-working) days and 13 long weekends requiring only 3 days vacation leave next year!

Yes, that’s right! We will have a long weekend almost every month in 2018!

Although, please keep in mind that the dates for Eidul Fitr and Eidul Adha are just predictions as these are based on the Islamic lunar calendar. The official dates will be declared by the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF).

For the rest, start booking before those discounted seats run out – and before your colleagues at work earmark those dates ahead of you!

As a TripZilla tradition, we’ve prepared a calendar with all the dates plotted and labelled to assist you with your trip planning. To spoil you even more, we’ve made a corresponding cheatsheet for the long weekends in 2018.

Feel free to print, save, share and even pin our calendar and cheatsheet on your bulletin board! If you need help deciding where to go and what to do, read some of our articles for ideas and inspiration!
