Best Mechanical Keyboards in the Philippines for Work & Gaming

In my quest to make work-from-home more appealing (read: tolerable), I succumbed to the capitalist intentions of productivity gurus (read: influencers with pretty, never disorganised, whiter than white desks) and asked for a mechanical keyboard for my birthday. My brother got me one in February — and since then, my work life has changed for the better: clickety-clacks and all.

Since I’m pretty sure you already want a mechanical keyboard, I’m not here to convince you any further. Instead, I’m here to compile the research for you. Here are the best available mechanical keyboards in the Philippines, according to the different techies of the interwebs.

Best mechanical keyboards you can buy in the Philippines

Royal Kludge RK61

Good size, price, and aesthetics — this is how my brother, a tech geek himself, would describe the Royal Kludge RK61. This mechanical keyboard gives you the best bang for your buck. Aside from being a great work keyboard, it also functions as an exquisite gaming keyboard — allegedly (I don’t play).

The RK61 has RGB backlight effects which you can switch up using the Fn (Function) + \keys. You can also connect it with a cord or via Bluetooth (it’s frequently used as a wireless mechanical keyboard), meaning you can use it for your laptop, desktop, tablet, or smartphone.

Since the Royal Kludge RK61 has a 60% keyboard layout, it’s compact enough to fit in most desks without sacrificing essential keys. Typically, 60% of keyboards don’t have a separate number pad, F (function) keys, and arrow keys. However, you can access all these through the Fn key. You can also customise the function of each key, as the RK61 is highly customisable to your liking. Not a fan of the compact layout? You can go for the 96% keyboard RK100 instead.

Available on Shopee and Lazada.

Logitech G413

Always under lists naming the best budget gaming keyboards in the Philippines, the Logitech G413 has tactile mechanical switches with a tenkeyless layout — definitely built for fast-speed players. Since it cuts down the distractions, its backlight only comes in either red (G413 Carbon) or white (G413 Silver). If you prefer RGB lighting, you can opt for the Logitech G512 mechanical gaming keyboard.

Available on Shopee and Lazada.

Keychron K2

Ready to invest in a top-notch mechanical keyboard? Looking for a super tactile tool for an excellent typing experience? Want the most versatile option to explore switches and keycaps? The Keychron K2, a 75% keyboard, is an undeniable contender for the best mechanical keyboard in the Philippines.

A remote worker’s dream, the Keychron K2 is famous for its minimalist look with seamless Bluetooth connectivity. With its build quality (Aluminium bezels! Gateron switches!), this one will last for years — even if you’re the heaviest keyboard user out there. Want a more compact mechanical keyboard? Consider getting the tenkeyless Keychron K6.

Available on Shopee and Lazada.

Razer BlackWidow V3

Razer holds a big reputation as a gaming keyboard in the Philippines. With that comes understandably pricey products, all created to give users a premium experience. But the Razer BlackWidow V3 sets itself apart from the ritzy keyboards of the brand: With the same excellent build quality, ergonomic layout, and elegant matte design, this mechanical gaming keyboard comes at a much more affordable price.

Available on Shopee and Lazada.

Razer Huntsman Mini

The Razer Huntsman Mini has the striking look of most Razer keyboards but comes in a more minimalist and compact layout. The 60% keyboard offers the same first-class Razer features: high backlighting customisability, fully programmable keys, aluminium body, durable PBT keycaps, et cetera. With its mini layout, it boasts extreme portability without compromising on performance.

Available on Shopee and Lazada.

Corsair K70

If you’re looking for a mechanical keyboard to complete your gaming setup, the Corsair K70 won’t let you down. Dedicated to high-level gamers, this keyboard is under the Corsair Champion series, tested with esports professionals for tournaments and competitions.

The Corsair K70 comes with Cherry MX switches, a tenkeyless form-factor, and precision-moulded keycaps to withstand the wear and tear of gaming. Do note, though, that this product is a wired-only mechanical keyboard built for a lightning-speed response.

Available on Shopee and Lazada.

HyperX Alloy Origins Core

Another notable gaming keyboard in the Philippines, the HyperX Alloy Origins Core is a tenkeyless mechanical keyboard with linear switches. It boasts exquisite RGB lighting, thanks to its exposed LED feature. Its layout also provides a great typing experience, with thoughtful ergonomics that allow the ideal travel distance.

Moreover, the HyperX NGENUITY software lets users customise the keyboard. Aside from changing the lighting, you can also personalise the game mode, create your macros, and customise button bindings.

Available on Shopee and Lazada.

Varmilo VA87M

While not the most popular mechanical keyboard in the Philippines, Varmilo VA87M offers one of the best services for remote workers. With a world-class build quality, the keyboard is tenkeyless with a wide variety of Cherry MX switches. It even has a macOS-specific version built with a layout and keycaps identical to the standard mac. If you’re planning to get this for your WFH setup, consider getting the version with Cherry MX brown switches.
