Palawan, often referred to as the "last frontier of the Philippines," captivated travellers with its unspoiled natural beauty, earning it the third position on the list. The island is renowned for its breathtaking limestone cliffs and the turquoise waters of El Nido and Coron. These stunning landscapes, combined with the Puerto Princesa Subterranean River, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1999, solidify Palawan's reputation as a must-visit destination for nature lovers and adventure seekers alike.
Boracay, a long-time favourite among both local and international tourists, was ranked fourth. This small island is famous for its vibrant atmosphere, offering a plethora of water sports and activities, as well as a lively nightlife scene. Boracay’s White Beach, known for its powdery white sand and crystal-clear waters, remains the island's most popular attraction, drawing in visitors from around the world who are eager to experience its laid-back charm.
In the list, Bali, Indonesia, took the top spot, followed by Phuket, Thailand, in second place. Aside from Palawan and Boracay, the list also featured the Maldives, Langkawi in Malaysia, Havelock Island in India, and Jeju Island in South Korea, showcasing a diverse range of island destinations across Asia.
The Department of Tourism (DOT) of the Philippines expressed its gratitude to TimesTravel for including Palawan and Boracay in their esteemed list. This recognition further cements the Philippines' status as a premier travel destination in Asia, offering unique experiences that cater to a wide variety of travellers.
