UP Diliman to UP Los Baños: Your New Commuter Bus Connection

Good news for commuters travelling between Quezon City and Laguna: a new bus route will soon make it easier to get from the University of the Philippines (UP) Diliman to UP Los Baños (UPLB) and vice versa. Starting 19 Aug 2024, DLTB buses will begin operating on this much-anticipated route, providing a convenient and affordable travel option for students, faculty, and anyone else who needs to journey between these two major UP campuses.

What to know about the new UP Diliman to UP Los Baños bus route

The new service is designed to bridge the gap between the two campuses, making it easier for those with academic, personal, or professional ties to both locations. Whether you’re visiting friends, heading home for the weekend, or exploring different parts of the UP system, this bus route is set to become an essential part of your travel plans.

The DLTB buses will traverse the Metro Manila Skyway, making the trip from UP Los Baños to UP Diliman and back in a more streamlined and efficient manner. The fare for the journey is set at ₱165, making it an affordable choice for commuters.

The buses will operate on weekdays only, with specific departure times to accommodate the needs of the passengers. Here’s the schedule:

• From UP Los Baños to UP Diliman:

  • 5.30am

  • 1pm

• From UP Diliman to UP Los Baños:

  • 9am

  • 6pm

Passengers can board the buses at designated loading and unloading bays. In UP Los Baños, the buses will be available on Velasco Avenue near the main gate, while in UP Diliman, passengers can catch the bus at Lakandula Extension corner Jacinto Street.

Community-driven initiative

This new bus service was born out of a demand survey conducted by the UP Los Baños Community Affairs team, which sought to gauge interest in a regular commuter bus between the two campuses. The response was overwhelmingly positive, with 2,888 respondents expressing their need for such a service. Thanks to this feedback, the route has now become a reality.
