Travellers using Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) should prepare for significant changes, as Terminal 4 is scheduled to shut down for renovations starting 6 Nov 2024. This closure will last until February 2025, during which time the terminal will undergo extensive upgrades to improve its ageing infrastructure, passenger flow, and overall travel experience.

According to the New NAIA Infra Corporation (NNIC), the renovation aims to enhance safety and modernise Terminal 4, which has been serving travellers since the 1940s. As one of NAIA’s oldest and smallest terminals, it currently handles around 2,900 passengers daily and operates several airlines, including AirSWIFT, Sunlight Air, and CebGo. These airlines will temporarily relocate their operations to Terminal 2 during the closure.
The transition will happen in stages: AirSWIFT will transfer its operations by 5 Nov 2024, followed by Sunlight Air on 6 Nov 2024 and CebGo on 7 Nov 2024. Passengers are advised to check their updated flight schedules to avoid any last-minute surprises. Notifications regarding terminal changes will be sent to affected travellers, ensuring they have the most current information about their flights.
CebGo's operations, which include various routes to popular destinations like Busuanga (Coron), Caticlan (Boracay), Cebu, Legazpi, Masbate, Naga, San Jose, Siargao, and Surigao, will all be shifted to Terminal 2. Notable affected flight numbers include:
Busuanga (Coron): DG 6043/6044, DG 6045/6046, DG 6047/6048, DG 6051/6052, DG 6055/6056
Caticlan (Boracay): DG 6243/6244, DG 6247/6248
Cebu: DG 6505/6506, DG 6511/6512, DG 6499/6500
The NNIC emphasises that the goal of these renovations is to make Terminal 4 more comfortable and efficient for travellers. While the upcoming changes may cause temporary disruptions, they are necessary to provide a better experience in the long run.
