Leading the series of reopening are sought-after Negros Accidental attractions, The Ruins and Lakawon Island. Due to quarantine restrictions, both places are only temporarily open to locals of the province.
Back in operations since 26 Oct 2020, The Ruins is open from 2pm to 8pm between Tuesday and Thursday, and 11pm to 8pm between Friday and Sunday. Starting 2 Nov 2020, the attraction will be closed every Monday. From Bacolod City, take a cab or jeepney to Pepsi Plant. Then, hire a tricycle to take you to the ancestral mansion.
In compliance with the protocols imposed by the Inter-Agency Task Force, visitors must wear both a face mask and a face shield. For now, the management prohibits children from entering the attraction in Talisay City.

Having reopened on 23 Oct 2020, Lakawon Island now accepts day visitors from 7am to 5pm between Friday to Sunday. Known for its banana-shaped coastline, the island is accessible via a two-hour bus, tricycle, and boat transfer from Bacolod City.
As part of the Lakawon Island safety measures, you must bring your own food and beverages (no corkage fee). The island’s famous Sunset Bar, however, will remain closed until further notice.

Don Salvador Benedicto, Negros Occidental’s “summer capital”, has also reopened earlier in October 2020. The municipality is about a 45-minute drive from Bacolod City and is endeared for its fresh air and mountain views.
Other attractions offering Negros Occidental day tours to locals will likewise reopen but with unspecified dates. Among them are Magikland Park, as well as establishments in the cities of Cadiz, Kabankalan, Sagay, and Sipalay.
At the time of writing, Negross Occidental remains under Modified General Community Quarantine. Since the pandemic, nearly 3,000 travel workers have lost their jobs, while the number of people infected by COVID-19 has reached 4,600, with 1,225 active cases.
