Fly to These Local Destinations from ₱688 One-Way with PAL

As Metro Manila and other provinces shift to general community quarantine, Philippine Airlines (PAL) has resumed their flights to select domestic destinations.

In the new PAL seat sale, passengers travelling for essential reasons can book flights from Manila, Clark, and Cebu from only ₱688 one-way (Economy base fare). Destinations include Butuan, Cagayan de Oro, Cotabato, Davao, Dipolog, General Santos, Kalibo, Legazpi, Ozamiz, Pagadian, and Tacloban.

Is this a good deal?

In the sample bookings above, a one-way Manila to Kalibo flight costs ₱1,557 in total. It comes with a rebooking with a fee option and a free light snack. The same applies to the Cebu to Davao flight, which costs ₱1,366. To upgrade to Economy Flex, one would spend a total of ₱5,925 and ₱6,574, respectively. Both come with a complimentary 10- to 20-kilogram baggage allowance and a free first rebooking.

As most flights from Manila, Clark, and Cebu at this time are generally more expensive, a one-way base fare of ₱688 seems decent enough for one person. It’s good to note that this already covers a free rebooking option (if it falls under the same fare class). For Economy Flex and Business Flex fares, this also includes a 10% bonus when you convert your ticket to PAL’s travel voucher should you experience a flight cancellation.

The country’s flag carrier further ensures the safety of its passengers with new normal flying measures, including offering PAL distancing seats for efficient social distancing aboard an aircraft.
