Buckle up, because The Henley Passport Index 2024 just unveiled the most powerful passports this year. Spoiler: It’s a six-way tie for the top spot! But first, how did our passport rank?

Where the Philippines stands

You might be curious, where does the Philippine passport stand in this global ranking? Currently ranked 78, Philippine passport holders are granted access to 67 destinations visa-free or upon arrival. While this may not seem like a big deal, it still opens doors of opportunities to exciting adventures and learning more about diverse cultures. After all, travelling doesn’t require you to hold the most powerful passport anyway.

Six countries share the top spot

This year, six countries reign supreme in travel freedom: France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Singapore, and Spain. Citizens from these nations have the power to access 194 destinations visa-free! Just imagine being able to travel from the bustling streets of Tokyo to the sun-kissed beaches of Spain, all without the hassle of applying for separate visas.

Following the top spot are South Korea, Finland, and Sweden, all holding steady in second place with 193 visa-free destinations. Meanwhile, Austria, Denmark, Ireland, and the Netherlands follow at 192 countries, proving the strength of European passports. Lastly, the UK places fourth with access to 191 countries, making an improvement from last year.
