If you’re from or anywhere near the Philippine capital, having a staycation in Manila is one of the best things to do when you want to get away from your usual routine. In fact, if you have the resources, all you have to do is book a room in any hotel in Metro Manila — there’s plenty of them at your disposal!
Now, it’s a little trickier. Among other things, you have to make sure that these Manila hotels are accredited to operate for staycations in the new normal.

As of October 2021, more than 30 hotels in the National Capital Region are allowed to accept leisure guests, after more properties were accredited since the start of the year. Each of them has a government-issued Safety Seal certification to show that they are complying with COVID-19 protocols. These hotels are:
The Department of Tourism (DOT), headed by Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat, previously made it clear that quarantine hotels aren’t to be used for staycations. Also, being a government-accredited hotel does not automatically entitle one to accept leisure guests at this time.
Currently, booking a staycation in Manila is limited to guests aged 18 years old above. They must also be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Otherwise, you must present a negative RT-PCR test taken not more than two days before check-in.
