Domestic Flights Departing Manila Suspended Until 18 Aug

Metro Manila is back in modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ), and domestic flights during MECQ are suspended yet again.

Effective 4 Aug until 18 Aug 2020, the two-week lockdown covers all domestic flights by Cebu Pacific and Philippine Airlines departing from the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA). Passengers of affected flights can rebook, refund, or convert their ticket cost to the airline’s virtual voucher.

“We seek the understanding and full cooperation of our passengers as we make these necessary changes to comply with the government directives, and above all to support public safety,” the Manila International Airport Authority added in an announcement.

Meanwhile, domestic flights during MECQ operating in Clark, Cebu, Davao, and other Philippine cities will remain operational, as will select international flights in NAIA. However, they will be subject to “further guidelines from the authorities in line with quarantine capacity and related arrangements.”

Along with Metro Manila, MECQ is now in effect in Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, and Rizal. The Philippine government likewise prohibited public transportation, including buses, trains, and ride-hailing services. Passengers with domestic flights during MECQ may contact their airline directly or await further instructions.
