The only plastic we need for travel.
For us Pinoys especially, nothing is quite as satisfying as a home-cooked meal. But let’s be honest. A lot of the time, we end up skipping the packed lunch and spending unnecessarily by dining out or opting for takeout. The number one reason? Our baon is always cold by lunch time — either that, or it’s already gone because we’ve decided to eat it upon arriving at work, while it’s still hot.
Thanks to the invention of the electric lunch box, however, we can finally say goodbye to cold ulam and rice! And amazingly, you can purchase a self-heating lunch box for as low as ₱232. Not bad, right?
In a nutshell, a heated lunch box comes with food compartments that are either made with ceramic or stainless steel. These compartments are good for your rice, meat, veggies, and even soup. The lunch box’s main feature, of course, is that it comes with a power cord that you’ll have to plug in when you’re ready to heat up your food. Depending on how much food is in your self-heating lunch box, it’ll take at least 25 minutes to warm up your meal.
Take note that a basic electric lunch box is made to reheat meals that have already been cooked, and aren’t meant to cook your food from scratch. However, if you’re willing to spend more, there are versions that are capable of cooking rice and eggs!
