The only plastic we need for travel.
After Bench founder Ben Chan posted a photo of Hyun Bin on his Instagram stories as a Mother’s Day greeting, many started to speculate that the Crash Landing on You actor would soon be one of the local retail brand’s ambassadors. With Pinoys’ love for all things South Korean — not to mention the number of K-drama fans that were born during quarantine — many of us certainly got our hopes up.
Philippine Concerts even took to Twitter to express their speculations:

A few weeks later, Chan posted a teaser on his personal Instagram account: a short video clip with text that reads, “Your crush, landing soon.” The founder captioned it, “After months of keeping it a secret, the wait is almost over.”

The idea of Hyun Bin as a Bench ambassador doesn’t at all seem unlikely, as the brand has been known to land international stars as their ambassadors — among them some of our favourite K-drama stars. Their lineup boasts names like Park Seo-joon (What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim, Itaewon Class), Lee Min Ho (Boys Over Flowers, The King), and Park Hyung Sik (Strong Woman Do Bong Soon, Hwarang).

What are your thoughts? We’re keeping our fingers crossed that Bench will bring our K-drama crush to Philippine shores soon (once the pandemic subsides, of course!).
