“I wanted to pre-book before my flight, but during that time, there was still confusion about pre-booking hotels before arrival,” Kevin shares. Having not secured his quarantine facility in advance, he got to see firsthand how doing so would have made his experience a whole lot easier. Arrival & quarantine procedure guide for balikbayans

1. After securing your flight back home, check if your airline provides an online check-in option. Take advantage of this option if available!
2. Pre-book a stay at Summit Hotels and Resorts or Go Hotels. A stay at a hotel operating as a quarantine facility for balikbayans is mandatory while you wait for COVID-19 test results and accompanying documents.
3. Fill up a Declaration and Waiver Form that indicates that you are healthy and fit to travel.
4. After checking in to your flight, accomplish the Electronic Health Locator Form and Arrival Card online and save the QR code; this will be presented to the Immigration officer when you arrive.
5. Once you arrive, you will attend a briefing by the Philippine Coast Guard.
6. Fill up the Affidavit of Undertaking, which you will have to submit before leaving the airport.
7. Fill up the e-CIF form, then present your passport and QR code to the verification and barcoding booth.
8. Pay for your RT-PCR test, which costs  ₱4,500. You will receive three barcode stickers that you will need in order to proceed with your test. When done, you will be given a sticker to be placed on the back of your passport.
9. Clear with Immigration, and present the QR code you received after filling out the Electronic Health Locator Form and Arrival Card. Claim your luggage, then clear with Customs.
10. Submit the Affidavit of Undertaking before exiting.
11. Proceed to your booked hotel through your preferred mode of transportation.
12. Check in at your hotel, and fill out a Health Declaration form. You can do so in advance through QR codes provided by the hotel. Then, enjoy your stay while waiting for the release of your test results!

Note: There will be an added step for booking a Department of Health-accredited hotel at the airport for those without prior bookings; long queues are to be expected — so we highly recommend skipping the line and pre-booking your quarantine facility!
