Known as "TOKYO Night & Light," this remarkable display has earned a spot in the Guinness Book of World Records as the world’s largest projection mapping show. Spanning an impressive area of approximately 13,905 square metres, the projections light up the eastern facade of the building, captivating viewers with stunning visuals of Japan's famous attractions. Each show runs for about 30 minutes, and the presentations change every half-hour, providing a unique experience every time.

Among the highlights is the “Tokyo Concerto,” which features a captivating blend of music and visuals showcasing Tokyo’s rich history and bright future. For anime lovers, the "Zankyo Sanka" show, featuring a popular theme song, transports you to a fantastical world of light, with imagery that transitions between traditional and modern Japanese architecture. Another standout is “800,” which uses evocative visuals to express emotions ranging from anxiety to hope, immersing viewers in a powerful narrative.

The show also includes "Lunar Cycle," which poetically represents the moon's phases against various Tokyo landscapes, and "Evolution," which explores the relationship between change and stability through light effects and projections on the building’s striking structure.

The schedule varies between weekdays and weekends, with weekdays featuring a combination of the “Evolution” and “Lunar Cycle” shows, while weekends and public holidays showcase all five spectacular presentations.

Located in Shinjuku, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building is not just a hub for this stunning display; it’s also an architectural masterpiece designed by Kenzo Tange. Its unique design resembles both integrated circuits and a Gothic cathedral, making it a significant landmark in the Tokyo skyline.

Visitors can also take advantage of the building’s observation decks, which offer breathtaking panoramic views of the city, free of charge.
